Foster

Fostering. It's our most needed volunteer position in SDBHR. Fostering is the most generous way to help our organization. Opening your heart to help a hound in need allows us to find homes for the bassets that come into our care.

Basset hounds come into our rescue young and old, healthy or not. A foster has the special task of learning about their new housemate in order to find their forever home. We ask for a 3 week commitment from our fosters when placing a hound in your care. That gives us time to learn the emotional and physical needs of each hound.

If you're interested in fostering a basset hound, please  fill out the following questions as completely as possible. All information is completely confidential.
